Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or GED
Graduate of a medical assistant training program accredited by:
Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), OR
Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), OR
A formal United States Armed Forces medical services training program
Certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Experience:
Minimum of one year as a Medical Assistant within the last three years
Immunization Requirements (must be current or able to obtain):
Hepatitis B (series and titer)
Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
Varicella (Chickenpox)
TB (Tuberculosis) test
Seasonal Influenza (flu) vaccine
COVID-19 vaccine (if applicable)
Key Responsibilities May Include:
Retrieve and maintain patient medical records according to clinic protocols
Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures
Transport patients to other departments as needed
Verify that charts include provider’s signature, stamp, and diagnoses before returning to Health Records
Obtain laboratory and radiology results for provider review
Answer phones, take/deliver messages, and support patient communication
Report and help manage broken or unsafe equipment
Support patient care by managing flow and providing hands-on assistance under provider supervision
Schedule and confirm appointments; contact patients about test results or provider instructions
Scan and upload documents into electronic health records
Perform receptionist, clerical, and record-keeping duties to support clinic operations

Schedule: 8-hour shifts | Monday–Friday | Daytime | Weekends as needed
