- In collaboration with the Vice President of Nursing, you will supervise all assigned LPN’s & RN’s for both IRAs & ICF’s programs.
- Develop and implement comprehensive quality improvement plans and protocols for all residential programs, as per OPWDD regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of records, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational guidelines for all ICF’s & IRAs.
- Collaborate with program directors and staff to develop and implement corrective action plans for internal and external audits.
- Provide education and training on quality improvement initiatives and best practice.
- Stay current with healthcare industry trends, regulations, and OPWDD mandates.
- Conduct regular on-site visits to residential programs to assess quality of care.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of individual records, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement corrective action plans.
- Provides ongoing training& education to AMAP’s. Conducts regular training classes for AMAP, to improve initiatives and best practices. Complete required pouring for certification, as well as maintaining all OMR 811 forms.
- Provide supervision & oversight to ensure all nursing services are adequately meet for the Individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities under Mercy Home’s care.
- Provide oversight to ensure individuals’ medication, including ordering medication, maintaining a supply of medication, notifying appropriate parties of any medication changes, and ensuring medication administration is accurately documented.
- Serve as the liaison with medical providers & ensure medical appointments are scheduled and attended by appropriate staff, as necessary. Ensure follow-up care as ordered by the Medical Director is carried out by the staff.
- Provide oversight to ensure individuals medical orders & protocols are implemented, monitored, and revised, as needed.
- Review appropriate documentation are handed in, e.g., weight, vital signs, results of a medical appointment.
- Ensure that regulatory compliance, agency policies, procedures, and standards regarding the Individuals’ health care is monitored by LPN’s, RN staff & others.
Role Qualifications:
- BS Nursing Degree& Current RN license is required
- Valid and clean New York State Driver’s License required.
- 1 years of experience in OPWDD setting working with IDD population.
- Previous work experience in hospital or med surgery setting, demonstrated leadership duties in required
- Excellent PC skills to handle Microsoft Suite package
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with all levels of staff.
